Deer Creek Pony Club

WELCOME TO THE DEER CREEK PONY CLUB WEBSITE!

Our club, founded in 1995, is a local affiliate of the Sierra Pacific Region of the United States Pony Club. Deer Creek Pony Club serves youth and adult riders in Wilton, Elk Grove, Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Rancho Murieta, Carmichael, and Ione, California area and is dedicated to the development of riders as stewards of the horse and leaders of the community at all ages and at all levels of ability.

In 2020 Deer Creek received their 25th Anniversary Award, and in 2022 they received the Team Flash Award for their hard work in keeping the club open and getting new members.

Our activities include:

Monthly mounted and unmounted meetings,
Regional and national competitions,
Clinics, camps, intro to cross country schooling.

The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. started in 1954 to teach riding and the proper care of horses. It is based on The British Pony Club, which was created in 1929 as a junior branch of the Institute of the Horse. Since then, Pony Club has expanded to many countries around the world, with the main goal being to promote sportsmanship, stewardship and leadership through horsemanship.

Deer Creek Pony Club is an educational non-profit organization which teaches riding, mounted sports, and the care of horse and ponies, thereby developing responsibility, sportsmanship, moral judgment, leadership, and self-confidence. Pony Club members are encouraged to volunteer for the community and some projects we have worked on locally include painting poles, assisting at shows, and jump crew.

Deer Creek Pony Club is an organization that teaches kids and young adults English equestrian riding as well as every aspect of horse care. We meet twice a month for Mounted and Unmounted meetings. Location varies around the Wilton area, but will mostly meet out of Silver Spur Ranch. During the winter we have a few unmounted meetings. Check out our calendar for our upcoming events.
