WELCOME TO THE DEER CREEK PONY CLUB WEBSITE!
The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. was founded in 1954 to teach riding, horse care and good sportsmanship. Modeled after The British Pony Club (established in 1929), USPC has grown into an international organization that promotes sportsmanship, stewardship and leadership through horsemanship.
Deer Creek Pony Club, established in 1995, ia part of the Sierra Pacific Region of the United States Pony Club. We proudly serve youth and adult members in the Wilton, Elk Grove, Sloughhouse and Rancho Murieta, California. Our mission is to develop knowledgeable horsemen and horsewomen who are good stewards to both horse and land- building the next generation of leaders at every age and ability level.
In 2020, Deer Creek received the 25th Anniversary Award and in 2022, the club earned the Team Flash Award for exceptional commitment to keeping the club thriving and expanding membership.

In October 2025, Deer Creek Pony Club had the exciting opportunity to participate at the Sacramento International Horse Show- not only as a fundraiser for our club but also to raise awareness of our presence within the local equestrian community. Our members attended the GGT Footing 1.30m Jumper Classic, where they joined a special course walk with local professional Dale Harvey. They learned the ins and outs of walking a jumper course and then watched the competition unfold, seeing firsthand how top riders put those strategies into action. It was inspiring and educational experience that showcased the values of teamwork, learning and community connection that define our club.
Deer Creek Pony Club is an educational, non-profit organization dedicated to teaching the care of the equines and the art of riding and mounted sports. Our programs nurture responsibility, sportsmanship, ,oral judgement, leadership and self-confidence. Members are also encouraged to give back through community service and volunteerism.
We meet on the first Wednesday of every month to explore all aspects of equine care and horsemanship. Bi-monthly Mounted meeting locations vary around the Wilton area depending on the instructor and topics.
